How to be a Master, The ingredient I have been missing….

I now know what has eluded me… I work harder than anyone else, I always inspire those who see me. That heavyweight, working harder than the 19 year old middleweights and lightweights… Yet I always felt that I was lacking something and now I know what it is.

4. Intentionality

“Intentionality is mindfulness, mental practice, having a vision of what you want to accomplish. Arnold Schwarzenneger argued that pumping a weight one time with full consciousness was worth ten without mental awareness. Average distance runners let their minds wander during a race in order to forget about the pain. Master runners focus on their bodies the whole time in order to perform to the best of their ability with every stride.

Cognitive psychology has discovered that visualizing an activity triggers the same parts of the brain as if we were actually DOING that activity. Mental practice can be as effective as actual practice in achieving mastery. ”

I must push my mind to stay awake and open, fully focused on my movements the ENTIRE time. People have told me I looked in a different world in the gym. It was not because I was so focused , but because I was just going through the motions, with fervor, but still not with focus. I will change this immediately. First I shall visualize it alone as I lie still.

I am on my way, every bit of knowledge that Allah leads me to empowers me.

El Hamdullilah.

P.S. It seems this is working as I am much more exhausted after my workouts now, my intensity all around is rising. I must build up this mental stamina further. I am on the way!
